Offering an indoor pool, a spa and a fitness centre, Holiday Inn Bucaramanga is just a 20-minute drive from the airport. It also offers an on-site restaurant and bar. I loved the view in the restaurant and pool. My very comfortable room also had a fantastic view. The breakfast was awesome. The food in the restaurant was really delicious. The staff in the hotel and all areas was always friendly and extremely kind and helpful. A plus of this hotel is that there is a mall which you have access without getting the street.

The even called our room if we were late and waited on us to arrive and served us. We loved the spaciousness of the room. It was perfect for our daughters.

The room was small but perfectly adequate and gorgeously appointed. The outdoor garden area and bathroom was lovely and its was great to meet with a small number of other travellers for conversations and tips of where to go and what to do in and around Barichara. It really felt like a home away from home. Highly recommend.

Although San Gil / Santander is not on the list of most travellers I met in my way, i find it a pity as this place is more authentic, there is quite lot of things to do and the people are very chilled and easy going compared to for eg Santa Marta. I really wish I had a few more days here.

On the long drive from Santander to Medellín, I needed a place to spend the night as it was getting late and I was very tired. The Booking.com app turned up this gem of a hotel in Barrancabermeja, where I enjoyed a very pleasant night. It's perfect for a night's stay—it is clean, has strong wifi, is located in in close proximity to restaurants, and has adjacent secure parking. Perfect for breaking up a long journey!
