Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. The dinner was probably the best dining experience I have had in Japan so far, especially the sashimi; everything was perfectly seasoned. I would recommend everyone to reserve (in advance) their dinner at least once to know how good their food is. Everyone always address my needs as far as they can provide, and always with a warm smile on their face. This is the absolute Japanese hospitality experience bar none. The owner (and almost every staff there) can speak perfect english so you will never have any problem with the language barrier. Love the private onsen. I take baths every day, sometimes twice a day. The cold winter helps.

Set 36 km from Ishidan-gai Steps, Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso offers 4-star accommodation in Nakanojo and has an open-air bath. One of the nicest rooms that I have stayed in, the in-room onsen was especially enjoyable. Included meals were better than expected !

Oyado Tamaki offers indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and a traditional garden with benches where guests can sit and relax in. Staffs are very nice, friendly, and very service-minded. I lost my ring in the onsen and the next morning, when asked about it, they are able to return it to me.

Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. It was a stunningly romantic ryokan, the room was spacious and beautiful, and the meals were exquisite. They accommodated my coeliac partner really well and communicated clearly what she could eat. They even made adjustments and alternatives for her, she was thrilled. The Onsen itself is lovely and the outdoor Onsen has beautiful views. We will definitely be coming back :) thank you for everything!
